King Award — Moni Sarapoin Mohaserey Wat — Cambodian Award for Excellence in Education and Literacy

United World Schools — Cambodia received another award from the South Asian nation. This one is from the King of Cambodia to all the people working with UWS.


The King Award, called in Khmer, Moni Sarapoin Mohaserey Wat, is an award given to a person or an organization doing tremendous work to support education and literacy programs in Cambodia. Since UWS has partnered with the Cambodia government on education since 2008, building schools, training teachers and delivering quality, inclusive education to over 12,000 Cambodian children, the King chose to appreciate UWS with this important award.


This award was presented by Som Dach Tea Banh who is the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia in charge of The Ministry of National Defence. He was representing Norodom Sihamoni, The King of Cambodia. There to receive the award on behalf of the entire UWS Cambodia team was Sitha Nan, the UWS Cambodia Country Director and Founder of UWS – Cambodia, who announced, “Happy days!”
