Madagascar- 1st Stone Laying Ceremonies
At the end of August, we carried out the ceremonies of laying the first stone in the 5 new villages. During this ceremony the olobe (the oldest man in the village) pours rum on the ground and asks the ancestors to protect the construction, the teams that will work on the site and make sure that the building is solid.
This visit was also an opportunity to introduce the site managers to the community and to organize community commitments.
The construction started on September 5 and should be finished in February 2023.
